English language skills are the foundation for a successful life in Kitchener-Waterloo.
We match volunteers with newcomers like you who are eager to improve their English skills, especially conversational skills for everyday living in Canada.
You and your conversation partner will meet for one to two hours every week for approximately six months at a public place such as a coffee shop, community centre or public library and talk about whatever they feel like discussing.
Only Permanent Residents, Refugee Claimants, Convention Refugees and Protected Persons, Live in Caregivers, and people who have become Canadian Citizens within the last three years are eligible for this program. Unfortunately, due to funding restrictions we are unable to serve Work Permit, Study Permit, and Visitor Visa holders.
