February is Black History Month

Once again, in February 2021, we will celebrate Black History.  
 
As Canadians, we now have a new and exciting resource for Canadian Black History, a musical montage based on Oscar Peterson's "Hymn to Freedom.”

The website for the "Hymn to Freedom project" is now complete and available to be used freely by everyone. The video is a slice of Canadian Black History; relevant 365 days of the year, and central to the knowledge of the history of Canada. Please visit www.hymntofreedom.ca to learn more.

The Hymn to Freedom project team is gratified by your tremendous response to the video. It tells us that Canadians want to become more knowledgeable and educated about the long, interesting and dynamic presence of Black Canadians.
